Project Oasis Student Suspension Program (POSSP)
The Project Oasis Student Suspension Program was created through the collective will of the Board of Education, Superintendent’s office, Montclair High School and anchored by the MNDC and the leadership of community activist and MNDC Executive Director Al Pelham to proactively and strategically address the national epidemic of suspension of African American and other minority students. Specifically, the Program will make available board certified teachers who are registered in the Montclair school district and licensed and certified counselors and mentors to students during their suspension period and will combine a variety of activities during the day including school assignments, counseling, personal development and life skills.
